:: Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST)

The UK Royal Society is funding a parliamentary pairing scheme in Uganda, and Kenya.  This programme involves pairing a member of parliament with a scientist with the aim of promoting a better understanding of science and transformation into policy as well as help scientists understand the policy making process. 

:: Public Lecture Series

UNAS now has 32 Fellows, all of whom have never given their acceptance lectures.  This financial year, UNAS plans to hold four of these lectures.  The first Fellow to give his acceptance lecture will be Professor Edward Kirumira, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Makerere University, on Thursday 28th February 2008.  

:: UNAS Fellows and Members Training

In June 2008, UNAS will hold a training session for the UNAS membership.  The objective of this training is to build capacity amongst the membership, to ensure continuity of the Academy programmes and to ensure that the membership have a clear understanding of the activities that the Academy is undertaking.

:: 1st Consensus Study Report

Watch out for the 1st Consensus Study Report “Mosquito Alert: Assessing Malaria Vector Resistance to Insecticides used for Indoor Residual Spraying in Uganda.”   This report will be released in or about March 2008.
